Being raised on a farm, you learn the importance of keeping equipment going and the expense when a piece of equipment goes down in a critical time. You learn to be a "jack of all trades" and how to figure you way through issues as they arise on the fly. You also learn work ethic. Work ethic is the main ingredient that's missing in most dealership shops today...
In The Beginning...
Owner Travis Thomas started his career at the age of 14 working for a Farm Equipment dealer as a mechanic. At the age of 17 he went to work for a local Caterpillar dealer where he got experience with on highway trucks and heavy equipment. That career then transpired into becoming a highly recognized on site power generation technician for 18 years. He saw the need for a local more personal approach to On Site Power Generation and Diesel Engine Repair in Bedford County Va. and surrounding area's, so in 2019 he founded Island Creek Diesel LLC.
